Music for disinfection, in order to heal. To build a dream on.''

"Symbols Follow" continues Giulia Loli's musical explorations of ancient futuristic beat techniques by uniquely juxtaposing tradition and innovation, acoustic and digital, the familiar and unexpected...

Coming January 2015: Yannick Dauby's Penghu Experimental Sound Studio Vol.1

Posted on December 13th, 2014

New LP by French sound artist, Yannick Dauby, based around his recordings -up and below- the surface on the Peng-Hu archipelago, on the straight of Taiwan.

A beautiful maritime experience in the truest sense. Using found objects, analogue devices and digital processing Dauby creates a very vivid soundscape where sounds of the underwater fauna, waves, harbours, funerals, shortwave radio broadcasts and analog electronic instruments come together to create an unique, frozen in time, sketchbook of tranquility and reflection.

Coming soon: LP edt of Yannis Kyriakides & Andy Moor's latest Rebetika homage

Posted on November 13th, 2014

Very excited to announce a special collaboration between Discrepant and Unsounds to produce the vinyl edition of Yannis Kyriakides & Andy Moor's ''A Life is a Billion Heartbeats''.

"A Life is A Billion Heartbeats" continues Kyriakides & Moor's explorations of the rich and mysterious terrain of the golden period of Rebetika music from the late 20's and early 30's. In this brand new set of songs they revisited the same interests explored on the Rebetika CD(20U) but with a new approach in the combination and juxtaposition of Rebetika elements with their own distinct sonic explorations.

The source material on this LP includes voices such as Rita Abatzi, Markos Vamvakaris, Girogos Batis and the great guitarist and singer Kostas Bezos. The title of the LP alludes to the transient sense of life found in the songs of the many musicians from the Greek underground during those turbulent times.

This will be a first time collaboration between Discrepant and Unsounds, expected release date in Feb 2015.
